Margaret E. Sandberg, 86, of Meadville, died suddenly Tuesday, November 28, 1995 in Southfield, MI at the home of her daughter.
She was born June 7, 1909 in Dubois, a daughter of the late Dr. Marshall W. and Margaret R. (Shaffer) Hayes. She married George L. Sandberg on October 4, 1932. He preceded her in death on February 8, 1976.
Mrs. Sandberg was a 1927 graduate of Meadville High School and attended Allegheny College where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She was a homemaker, life member of Elks Aux. of Meadville, and a charter member of the antique study club. She was a member of Stone United Methodist Church. She acted as nursery supervisor at the church and the YWCA for many years. She was also past president of Meadville City Hospital Aux.
Survivors include one daughter, Saundra Lee Rollins of Southfield, MI; two grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two step-great-grandchildren and also nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Claude L. Hayes; an infant brother, Willard Hayes and a sister, Ruth H. Barnes.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
