Margaret (Peg) Smith

Margaret (Peg) Smith, of Meadville, died St. Vincent Health Center, Erie, Wednesday, June 30, 1982, after a sudden illness.

She was born in Saegertown, a daughter of Preston and Margaret Muckinkaupt Peters.  She married Stanley C. Smith in 1927.

Mrs. Smith worked for many years as a teacher at Meadville Area Senior High until her retirement.  She graduated from Meadville High School and later from Allegheny College in 1921, where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority.

She was a member of Park United Church of Christ, Park United Church Service Club, a past worthy matron of Golden Crown 44 OES, a former district deputy of OES, a member of Meadville Women's Club, Thesaurus Club and a Philo Mathesian.

She is survived by her husband, a sister, Mrs. Olive Davis of Meadville and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Florence.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greenville Cemetery.
