Marguerite K. Houser

June 19, 1893 — August 7, 1974

Miss Marguerite K. Houser, 81, of Meadville, died Wednesday, August 7, 1974, at City Hospital following a short illness.

A daughter of Frederick L. and Jennie Sloan Houser, she was born in Vernon Township, June 19, 1893.  She was a graduate of Meadville High School and in 1918, of Edinboro Normal School with graduate work at the then Pennsylvania State College.

Miss Houser was a 50-year member of Stone United Methodist Church and a member of United Methodist Women.  In earlier years, she was involved in Girl Scout work.  She taught school in Union and Randolph Townships and in Meadville and Linesville schools.

She was a member of the Bird and Tree Club.

She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Wesley (Adelaide) Reitze of Meadville and Mrs. Harriet Hout of Meadville; a brother, John A. Houser of Lakeland, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment cremated remains was in Watson Run Cemetery.
