Marian C. Humes

Marian C. Humes, 82, of 20574 Baird Ave., Meadville, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community.

She was born in Meadville August 9, 1924, a daughter of the late Millard E. and Edna E. Shaffer Clark.

She was a 1941 graduate of Meadville High School and a graduate of Meadville Commercial College.  She worked in the office of Gelvin, Jackson, and Starr Insurance Agency for 44 years.  She previously worked briefly as a secretary in an insurance agency in Buffalo, NY.  She enjoyed her flowers, and crocheting and sewing for her family.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Brenda H. McMaster and her husband Richard of Cochranton and Sue E. Graff and her husband Gerald of Linesville; a brother, Austin Millard Clark and his wife Betty of Meadville; 4 grandchildren, John McMaster and his wife Debra and Jason McMaster, all of Cochranton,  Jeremy Graff and his wife

Amy of Meadville and Justin Graff of Linesville; 4 great-grandchildren, Shania, Jacob, and Noah McMaster and Jayna Graff, and a step-great grandson, Christopher Yeaples, and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Mildred Myers, Edna Huckelbury, and Esther Hutchinson Hill; 3 brothers, Myron L., Clyde S., and F. Wray Clark; and 3 infant grandchildren.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

A funeral and committal service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Russell Hines, retired United Methodist Clergyman, officiating.

Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.
