Marian Desta Clemons Kirk

Marian Desta Clemons Kirk, 84, a resident of the Inn at Lakeview, Groveport, OH, died there Sunday, November 16, 2003.

She was born December 17, 1918 in East Mead Twp., a daughter of the late William Adolphus and Ressie Hanks Clemons.  She married Arthur R. Kirk July 29, 1939.

She attended Randolph Township schools and graduated in 1937 from Guys Mills High School.  She attended Northwestern College, Minneapolis, MN.  She worked as an office assistant and receptionist in several doctor’s offices.  She was an excellent mother and homemaker.

She and her husband served in United Methodist Churches for more than 60 years.  She was an active member in each church they served.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, Rev. Arthur Kirk of Grove City, OH, include 2 daughters, Carolyn Verna Kirk Waters of Middleton, MA and Kathleen Diana Kirk Ayres and her husband James of Groveport, OH; 2 sons, Karl Blaine Kirk and his wife Anita of Lapeer, MI and Kenneth George Kirk and his wife Jo of Grove City, OH; 10 grandchildren, Geren, Warren, and Josie Waters, David, Karen, and Christopher Kirk, Joseph and Christopher Ayres, and Heather and Joshua Kirk; and 8 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Clemons and a brother, Walter Clemons.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

A funeral service will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. David Blood, Pastor of Poland United Methodist Church, Poland, OH, officiating.

Burial will be in Greendale Cemetery.
