Marian Findley Luffman, 91, a resident of Crawford County Care Center, died there Sunday, March 10, 1996, following a period of declining health.
She was born in Saegertown, September 16, 1904, a daughter of the late Charles and Ellabelle Little Luce. She married Homer Findley March 4, 1923. He preceded her in death in 1968. She subsequently married Cecil Luffman in 1973 and he preceded her in death in 1975.
She was a graduate of Saegertown High School. And was first a member of Saegertown United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School. After moving to Meadville, she was a member of Grace United Methodist Church where she also taught Sunday School for many years. She worked as a manager of Hill's Office Supply Store in Meadville also for several years, and she worked for a period of time as a sales clerk at Shyrocks. She had her own radio program on WMGW, reciting poetry while being accompanied by her daughter, June, on piano.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Donald (June) Roha of Silver Springs, MD and Mrs. Nick (Sue) Ruggiero of Sycamore, IL; two sons, Charles Findley of Nashville, TN and Donald Findley of West Lake Village, CA; eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Brookhauser Cemetery.
