Marian H. Pond

Mrs. Marian H. Pond, widow of Frederick L. Pond, who held a position with the state Department of Edication and was a former Meadville High School principle, died Thursday, May 11, 1978.

She was born in Unity, June 3, 1895, daughter of Joseph W. and Mabel VanTine Hamilton.  Mr. Pond died in 1953.  She was a nurse with City Hospital for many years and was a member of Stone United Methodist Church and the church United Methodist Women Group.  She was a member of the Ladies Advisory Committee to City Hospital, of Crawford County Historical Society and was a Red Cross worker for many years.

Survivors include two sons, John H. Pond of Littleton, CO and Joseph L. Pond of Pittsburgh; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
