Marian K. Kiser

Marian K. Kiser, 94, formerly of Towpath Road, Meadville, died Wednesday, August 2, 2006, at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community.

She was born in Meadville on October 29, 1911 a daughter of Walter E. and Elizabeth Berrie Klippel.  She married Elwood E. Kiser on March 25, 1933.  He preceded her in death June 3, 1977.

She was a 1929 graduate of Meadville Area High School and subsequently graduated from the Edinboro State College.  She taught school in Union and Vernon Townships as well as in Meadville for 34 years.

She was a member of the Meadville and later the Cochranton Christian and Missionary Alliance Churches, where she taught Sunday School and was a member of Alliance Women.

Survivors include one son, David E. Kiser of Branson, MO; one daughter, Dolores White and her husband Richard of Meadville; a nephew, Dr. Larry Kiser of Spokane WA; a niece, Linda R. Kiser, whom she raised of Meadville; one sister, Harriette Zarfoss of Swedesboro, NJ; six grandchildren, Cynthia Tudehope, Thomas S. Kiser, Bethany Berry, Brenda Hall, Rhonda Wright and Robert White and twelve great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Grantham and Elsie Ernst; one brother, Donald Klippel; and one grandson, Timothy Kiser.

Calling hours will be Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

A funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. John McGarvey, Pastor of the Christian Missionary and Alliance Church of Cochranton, officiating.

Interment will be in Kiser Hill Cemetery.
