Marian Morrison

Miss Marian Morrison, 89, a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community, died Tuesday, April 12, 1988, at Meadville Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Meadville, February 27, 1899, a daughter of Alfred W. and Lida Vandervort Morrison.

She was a gradute of Meadville High School and Allegheny College Class of 1921.  She received her masters degree in French from Middlebury College, Middlebury, VT.  She taught in Cambridge Springs and Butler school districts.  She was head of the French department at Sewickly Academy for 38 years until her retirement in 1964.  She was a member of Park Congregational Church.  She was a member of Kappa Kappa Sorority, the Business and Professional Women's Club of Sewickley, Meadville City Hospital Aux. and a volunteer at the American Red Cross Blood Bank.

Survivors include two nieces, Joan W. Ward of Hinsdale, IL and Susan W. Uvodich of Scottsdale, AZ.  She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
