Marian W. Simmons, 85, formerly of Saegertown, died Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at the Crawford County Care Center.
She was born February 6, 1927 in Meadville, a daughter of Otto Richard and Irene Woodring. She married James F. Simmons in October 1952.
Marian was a graduate of Meadville High School and had worked as a secretary and receptionist for Dr. Bauer and Dr. Moutsos. She was an avid bowler and member of the Bowling Hall of Fame.
Survivors, in addition to her husband James, include two sons, Dennis Simmons and Thomas Simmons, both of Meadville; two sisters, Geraldine Poux of Frenchtown and Marjorie (Mickey) Zelasco of Meadville; four grandchildren, Kristopher, Jaclyn, Ryan and Brandon and several great grandchildren
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Roland Woodring.
A graveside service will be private at St. Brigid Cemetery with Fr. Steve Anderson, Pastor of Our Lady Queen of the Americas Church, officiating.
