Marietta L. Olson

Marietta L. Olson, 82, of Hockessin, DE, formerly of Meadville, died Friday, February 5, 1988, at Crawford Long Hospital, Atlanta, GA.

Mrs. Olson was born in Meadville, December 21, 1905, a daughter of C. C. and Gertrude Laffer.  She married Earl H. Olson.  He survives.

She had been employed as an English teacher at high schools in Cleveland, OH and Curwensville.  She was a graduate of Allegheny College.  She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority and the American Assn. of University Women.  She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Wilmington, DE and had served as historian of the church.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include one son, Peter L. Olson of Rochester, MI; two daughters, Ellen O. Watson of Americus, GA and Christine D. Olson of Atlanta, GA; one sister, Elizabeth Sceiford, North East and seven grandchildren.

She preceded in death by one brother.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
