Marilyn A. Stephenson

Marilyn A. (Lynn) Stephenson, 83, of Meadville, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2013. She was born November 4, 1929 in Oak Park, IL, a daughter of Gordon and Alice Peterson Posson. She married Richard K. Stephenson September 15, 1951 and he preceded her in death October 19, 2008. Lynn was a 1947 graduate of Oak Park-River Forest High School and attended Knox College, Galesburg, IL. He worked for a short time for Prudential while living in Colorado. A homemaker, Lynn was a member of Stone United Methodist Church, the Meadville Medical Center Auxiliary and was a long-time participant in the Charity Follies. She was a former member of the Meadville Country Club, was the "honorary house mother" of Delta Delta Delta Sorority at Allegheny College and was a long-time Crawford County election official. Lynn was an avid reader and especially loved the time spent with her grandchildren. Survivors include a son, Dr. Keith Stephenson and his wife Julann of Blacksburg, VA; three grandchildren, Gabrielle, Benjamin, and Erinn Stephenson; her long-time friend Aundra Zack of Meadville; and special friends, Shaun and Angie Bortner of Meadville. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville. The funeral service will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Stone United Methodist Church, 956 S. Main St., Meadville with the Rev. Sarah Roncolato, Pastor, officiating.
