Marilyn M. Stallard, 82, of Meadville and a resident of the Crawford County Care Center went to be with her Lord and Savior, Monday, December 29, 2014.
She was born November 1, 1932 in Meadville a daughter of Floyd L. and Sara Tanner Bogardus. She married Richard L. Stallard October 21, 1950 and he preceded her in death earlier this year on September 22, 2014.
She was a graduate of Randolph High School and was a member of the first graduating License Practical Nursing Class at the Crawford County Vo-Tech. She worked at the former City Hospital, Wesbury United Methodist Community and for Dr. Gottlieb.
Her life focused around her family and church activities. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, music and playing the piano. She taught Sunday School, was involved in Bible study, played the organ, sang and directed the choir at churches she belonged to over the years.
She is survived by two daughters, Christine Stallard and her husband Gary Pelter of Pistol River, OR and Patricia Polley and her husband Kevin of Jamestown; two sons, David Stallard and his wife Rhonda of Lafayette, IN and Douglas Stallard and his wife Laura of Linesville; two sisters, Virginia Sanner and her husband Ronald of Guys Mills and Janet Hunter and her husband James of Meadville; two brothers, Bruce L. Bogardus and his wife Sue of Hartsville, NC and Norman L. Bogardus and his wife Myrtle of Guys Mills; ten grandchildren, Stephanie, Benjamin, Adam, Andrew, Megan, Molly, Brian, Kelli, Missy and Matthew; ten great grandchildren, Mara, Piper, Victoria, Landon, Zachary, Ashlyn, Colton, Cameron, Zoe and Elleeana and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Alan Stallard.
Calling hours will be Saturday, January 3rd from 1-4 p.m. at Meadville Alliance Church, 660 N. Main St., Meadville. The funeral service will follow at 4:30 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Jeffrey Conley, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Meadville Alliance Church, 660 N. Main St., Meadville, PA 16335.
