Marjorie A. Burchard

Marjorie A. Burchard, 88, a life-long Guys Mills resident, died Monday, July 30, 2018 at Wesbury United Methodist Community. She was born August 2, 1929 a daughter of Rae and Ruth Oakes Byham. She married Clair E. Burchard September 30, 1950 and he preceded her in death March 17, 2014. She was a graduate of Randolph East Mead High School. She was a homemaker but had also worked at J.C. Penney, in the office of Dr. Black, had in home child care and had worked for the Head Start Program. She was a member of the United Evangelical Free Church of Guys Mills. She was a tremendous cook and baker, known for her cinnamon rolls and pies. She also enjoyed cross stitch, crocheting and canning. She was also a long-time 4-H leader. She is survived by four daughters, Linda Hanson (Robert) of Edinboro, Barbara Hill of Guys Mills, Laura Conaway of Guys Mills and Patricia Oakes (Todd) of Guys Mills; a son-in-law, James Buschak of Edinboro; twelve grandchildren, Robert Hanson III (Roxanne), Sarah Hanson Smith (Adam), Timothy Hanson, Brett Hill (Amanda), Andrew Buschak, Ashley Bushak Paszko (Kyle), Abby Buschak Roach (Stephen), Rachael Conaway Pavlik (Lucas), Stephanie Conaway, Kyle Conaway, Kenneth Oakes and Ruthanne Oakes Mineo (Christian); twelve great grandchildren, Grace and Claire Smith, Savannah and Robby Hanson, Anden and Bowen Hill, Hayleigh, Shelby and Ona Paszko, Aria Roach and Ethan and Logan Pavlik; a sister-in-law, Sandi Byham of Meadville; two brothers-in-law, Merle Burchard (Carol) of Greenville and Bruce Burchard (Nancy) of Guys Mills and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mona Buschak; a grandson, Brandon Hill; a son-in-law, James Conaway and three brothers, Kenneth, Howard and Ralph Byham. Calling hours will be Wednesday, August 1st from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville. The funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Revs. David Coddington and Sam Marchetta, officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
