Marjorie E. Tidmarsh

October 7, 1896 — May 6, 1980

Marjorie E. Tidmarsh, 83, widow of the Rev. Ralph E. Tidmarsh, formerly of Sharon and a resident of the United Methodist Home and Nursing Hospital since June of 1972, died at the hospital Tuesday, May 6, 1980, following an extended illness.

She was born in Evanston, IL, October 7, 1896, a daughter of James and Edith Foltz Sloan.  She married the Rev. Mr. Tidmarsh September 1, 1918.  He died January 15, 1959.

Mrs. Tidmarsh assisted her husband in his work with United Methodist pastorates in Pennsylvania and New York state for 44 years.

She was a Sunday school teacher and a church musician.  She was a member of Oakland Ave. United Methodist Church, Sharon, and a lifetime member of the United Methodist Women.  She also was a lifetime member of Women's Christian Temperance Union and the X Club of Sharon.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. D. R. (Margaret) Garwood of South Point, OH; a son, Robert S. Hermitage; four granddaughters and one great-granddaughter.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
