It is with great sadness that our beloved mother, Marjorie Irvin Weyel, age 96, of Conneaut Lake, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Rolling Fields in Conneautville after a short stay.
She was born June 2, 1927 to Harry and Margaret (Chick) Irvin in Uniontown, PA. She married Donald E. Weyel, Sr. on August 13, 1950 in Uniontown then subsequently moved to Conneaut Lake
following their union.
Marge graduated from Uniontown Senior High School in 1945 and then from Westminster College in 1949 where she received her B.A. degree and was a member of Theta Upsilon Sorority. She traveled throughout Europe the summer following her graduation. She was employed by the Department of Public Assistance in Uniontown and then in Meadville as a social worker as well as Spencer Hospital and was show secretary for the Western Pennsylvania Quarter Horse Association from 1986 to 1991. Marge helped her husband at the Pony Track in Conneaut Lake Park for 64 years.
She was also an active member and Elder of the Presbyterian Church of Conneaut Lake. She enjoyed her many friends, church activities, and always welcomed visitors into her home throughout her life but her devotion was to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who kept her busy through all of their sports and activities. She was always there to help or to talk to and was a great hand at card games with family as well as her Sunday ladies card group. Over the past several years, she thoroughly enjoyed her weekly appointment with Caroline and the girls at Belladonna’s.
She is survived by five children, Don Weyel Jr., Margaret “Peggy” (Skip) Leonhard, Diane (Craig) Reynolds, Beth Moss, all of Conneaut Lake and Laurie (Jim) Rynd of Cochranton; ten grandchildren, Ben (Melissa) Grossman, Brian (Alyssa) Leonhard, Jamie (Steve) Carroll, Kristin (Jeff) Hubert, Andrew Rynd, Tyler (Brittani) Reynolds, Brad (Brooke) Reynolds, Mallory (Matthew) Richards, Jerred Moss, and Alexa (Ryan) Kuhn; great-grandchildren, Walker and Noah Carroll, Ella Grossman, Sydney and Landon Leonhard, Raegan and Reid Reynolds, Emma and Cooper Reynolds, Barrett and Sylvia Richards, and Laken Kuhn; and many nieces and nephews.
