Mark Allen Rhoades, 68, of Hartstown, died unexpectedly Monday, October 31, 2016.
He was born in Meadville September 23, 1948 a son of Norman and Lois Clark Rhoades. He and Carol Prince have been together for over 28 years.
He was a 1966 graduate of Linesville High School and was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the US Army from 1968-1970. He was a self-employed block layer and concrete specialist known for his hard work and particular nature. He was always on the move and loved to stay active. He and Carol enjoyed spending their winters in Florida where he would often worked as a handyman.
He was a life member of Linesville VFW Post #7842 and he enjoyed wood and metalworking, canoeing and riding his bike.
In addition to Carol Prince, he is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Baxter and her husband Dave of St. Charles, IL; a son, Justin Rhoades of Conneaut Lake; two step-sons, Todd Prince of Beaver and Brian Prince and his wife Brenda of Meadville; five grandchildren, Chance, Tanner, Morgan, Tyler and Brianna; a sister-in-law, Sharon Rhoades of Espyville; a niece, Amber Rhoades and a nephew, Adam Rhoades.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Rhoades.
A memorial service will be Friday at 4 p.m. at the Linesville VFW Post #7842, 6913 Gehrton Road, Linesville, PA with military honors provided by Harm Jan Huidekoper VFW Post #2006.
