Mark Charles Smith, 51, of 966 Washington St., Meadville died Sunday, October 06, 2002 at Meadville Medical Center following a sudden illness.
He was born in Meadville October 11, 1950, a son of the late Paul Harvey and Dorothy Diettrich Smith. He married Patricia Ann Wood October 12, 1974.
He was a 1969 graduate of Meadville High School and was a Vietnam Veteran with the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1969 to 1973. He worked as a custodian for 22 years at Meadville Junior High School and Meadville Middle School. He loved fishing and bowling.
He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ.
Survivors, in addition to his wife of 17 years, include a son, Christopher Mark Smith at home; a stepmother, Barbara Smith of Townville; a sister, Lynn Smith of Meadville; two brothers, Michael Paul Smith and his wife Karen of Saegertown and Kirk Edward Smith of Meadville; three stepsisters, Ann Zurasky and her husband Harry of Townville; Linda Loiacono of Guys Mills; and Mary Jo Lohrer of Meadville; and nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
A funeral service will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Timothy Solomon, Pastor of Emmanuel United Church of Christ officiating.
Burial will be in Greendale Cemetery.
