Marlene Faye Walker

July 19, 1952 — August 31, 2024

Marlene Faye Walker, born on July 19, 1952 in Sharon, PA. Marlene was the daughter of Teddy Glenn and Norma Jeanette (Love) Walker. She died peacefully in her sleep on August 31, 2024 at the age of 72, at the Shippenville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center under the care of AseraCare Hospice Care Services. She is preceded in death by both of her parents, Teddy and Norma Walker; her grandparents, Bailey and Ora Walker of Sandy Lake, and Paul and Fearn Love of Hermitage.

Marlene grew up in the small town of Stoneboro, PA, where she spent her summer afternoons at Stoneboro Lake. She and her twin sister Darlene spent many Sunday afternoons after church at her grandmother’s farm, jointly owned by her grandmother and uncles. Thus, the combined families had many good memories there including softball games after the milking had been done for the day.

Going to Conneaut Lake each summer when she was young was one of Marlene’s fondest family memories. She and her sister would ride as many rides as they could fit into the day and also enjoyed the traditional picnic. Also, she loved going to the Stoneboro Fair each Labor Day weekend. She never missed the fair while living in Stoneboro.

Marlene graduated from Lakeview High School in 1970. It was then that she began her love of the color red. Marlene could be seen in red hats, red coats, red shoes, red pants, and red glasses, and she loved to go shopping.

When Marlene’s mother needed nursing home care in December of 2012, Marlene went with her and there remained until her death. Most importantly, Marlene loved God and her savior, Jesus Christ.

The family wants to thank all of the nurses, therapists, and staff at Shippenville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center for their care and attention to Marlene over the years. Marlene is survived by her twin sister, Darlene Walker Martin and husband Gary of Clarion, nephews Brad Martin and wife Heather of Sandy Lake, Todd Martin and wife Paula of Erie, and niece Jennifer Martin and husband Sean in Winfield, IL, as well as many great nieces and nephews.

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is Eternal Life in Christ Jesus our Lord” – Romans 6:23
