Marlin Raymond Schrecengost

Marlin Raymond Schrecengost, 77, formerly of Park Avenue Ext., Meadville and a resident of Rolling Fields Nursing Home for the past 3 years, died Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at the Meadville Medical Center.

He was born September 9, 1928 in Kittanning, PA a son of Jacob and Iva Markle Schrecengost.  He married Shirley L. Carter November 26, 1964 and she preceded him in death December 7, 2001.

He retired in 1993 from Silgan Co. (formerly Carnation Co.) in Cambridge Springs after 34 years of service.  He was a member of First Christian Church and he enjoyed reading, woodworking and gardening.

Survivors, include: one son, Chris Schrecengost and his wife Suzanne of Meadville and one sister, Alda Piazza of Meadville.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Violet Pentz, Ruby Williams and Virginia Yount.

Calling hours will be Friday from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.  The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Terry Clark, Pastor of First Christian Church, officiating.
