Marshall N. Hills, 82, of Meadville, died Sunday, November 16, 1980, at City Hospital where he had been a patient for four days. He had been a patient at United Methodist Home and Nursing Hospital for the past three and one half years.
He was born in Randolph Township, March 15, 1898, a son of Mark and Lydia Blackmore Hills. He married Hazel Barnett on May 1, 1924.
He retired after 46 years of employment as a wood patternmaker with Meadville Malleable, Division of Dayton Malleable. He then went into partnership with his son, Harold, operating Hills Pattern Shop.
Hills was an active member of First Christian Church, serving more than 50 years as an elder. He also was a former Sunday School teacher, Bible School and home department superintendent and a member of the men's class.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, Harold N. of Meadville, Alden E. of Meadville and Marshall Lee of Morningview, KY; two sisters, Mrs. Harold (Pearl) Landfried of Greenville and Mrs. Chase (Ruby) Groce of Greenville; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, three sisters and a great-granddaughter.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
