Martha J. Baird, 85 of Greenville, passed away on October 21, 2019 at St. Paul Homes. Martha was born in Jackson Center on July 24, 1934 to the late Ralph and Twila (Perrine) Noble. She was a graduate of Mercer High School and went on to work as medical and dental assistants at many different offices. Martha married Richard G. Baird on August 15, 1975, he preceded her in death on July 3, 2000. Richard and Martha owned and operated the Baird Funeral Home in Greenville for many years. Martha was a member of the Zion’s Reformed Church in Greenville and was active in many aspects over the years. She also was a very active volunteer at Greenville Hospital Hospitality Shop and at St. Paul Homes. She was active in the Greenville Historical Society as well as many aspects of the Greenville Community. In her spare time, Martha enjoyed cooking, sewing, and knitting, and playing in several bridge clubs. Martha is survived by her children, Marcy Persch Hunt of Medina, OH, and Marty (Terri) Persch of Grove City, grandchildren Mark, Peter, Kevin, Sean, and Kendall, great-grandchildren Grayson, Emily, and McKenzie, and sister Doris Noble Redic of Denver, CO. In addition to her parents and husband, Martha was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Marta Jo Persch, in 1960, son Mark Persch in 1974, and brother Dr. David Noble. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Black Funeral Homes, Stoneboro & Sandy Lake. Funeral Services will be private as per Martha’s wishes. Inurnment will take place at the Zion’s Reformed Church Columbarium. Memorials may be made in Martha’s name to Greenville Area Historical Society, 23 W. Main Street, Greenville, PA 16125.
