Martha K. Burchard, 89, of Meadville and a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community, died there Saturday, July 2, 2016. She was born in Livermore, PA September 20, 1926 a daughter of George and Belva Roudebush Kirk. She married Harry (Junior) Burchard November 29, 1946 and he preceded her in death September 9, 2009. She was a 1944 graduate of Harborcreek High School and then the Ora Jean Beauty Academy in Erie. She worked as inspector for Talon Inc. for over 30 years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of Saegertown United Methodist Church, the Red Hat Society and the Woodcock Ladies Club. She enjoyed sewing, handwork, camping and traveling. She is survived by two sons, Dale Burchard and his wife Brenda of Nashville, TN and Donald Burchard and his wife Joanne of Carlisle, PA; six grandchildren, Kimberly Galford, Mignon Dine, Amanda Burchard McNatt and her husband Josh, Kyle Burchard and his companion Kristen McKay, Chad Collins and Carol Gonzales and her husband Jeff; nine great grandchildren, Tim (TJ) Galford, Maddie McNatt, Olivia Sasek, Jaxon Burchard, Kallan Burchard, Justen Gentry, John Gentry, Jordan Ketterman and Levi Gonzales; four great great grandchildren, Alaina Ketterman, Faith Ketterman, Marley Ketterman and Connor Gentry; two brothers, Ted Kirk and his wife Ruth of Asheville, NC and Paul Kirk and his wife Charlotte of Cambridge Springs; a sister, Margaret Held of Pottstown, PA; a son-in-law, Clarence "Dutch" Dine of Whiteville, NC, many nieces and nephews and long-time family friend, Ase Marit (Marie) Starr in Norway. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn Dine; a sister, Doris Cole and five brothers, Edwin Kirk, Lloyd Kirk, Elton Kirk, Arthur Kirk and David Kirk. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville. The funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Sam Marchetta, Wesbury Chaplain, officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family would like to thank the caring staff at Wesbury United Methodist Community for the loving care Martha received over the past 7 years.
