Martha Mears

Mrs. Martha Mears, 81, widow of Jamie B. Mears, died Tuesday, August 4, 1964, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Burke (Pauline) Hudson of Meadville, after a long illness.

She was born May 16, 1883, at Urichsville, OH, a daughter of Fred and Amanda Getchell Grussey.  She and her husband were married in 1909.

Mrs. Mears was a member of First Church of Evans (Presbyterian) at Derby, NY.

Survivors include three daughters in addition to Mrs. Hudson, Mrs. Clyde (Mary Jo) Malterer of East Liverpool, OH, Mrs. Wilbur (Patricia) Rounds of Meadville and Mrs. Gerald (Anita) Slowinski of Derby; three sons, Samuel B., George E. and Stanley P Mears, all of Meadville; a sister, Miss Gertrude Grussey of Uhrichsville; twenty-four grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

A son, James C. Mears, preceded her in death.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
