Martin A. Thornton, 67, of Randolph Township, died at Spencer Hospital, Monday, February 24, 1975, following a long illness.
He was born in Glassport, June 6, 1907, son of Thomas F. and Mary E. Faix Thornton. He married the former Shirley Teed February 28, 1931. Mr. Thornton was employed for many years at Mailliard's Sawmill, Guys Mills. He was a member of St. Hippolyte's Roman Catholic Church, Frenchtown.
Survivors include his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Marlene) Knapp of Guys Mills; six sisters, Mrs. Jaocb (Margaret) DeRemer of Mercer, Mrs. Earl (Agnes) Maxwell of Butler, Mrs. Perry (Mary) Williams of Meadville, Mrs. Leo (Helen) Mailliard of Guys Mills, Mrs. Lewis (Anastasia) Byham of Meadville and Mrs. Robert (Regina) Henrich of Des Plaines, IL; a brother, Lawrence of Guys Mills and five grandchildren.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in St. Hippolyte Cemetery.
