Marvin L. (Perk) Perkins, Sr., 77, of Conneaut Lake, died Wednesday, December 11, 2002 at Meadville Medical Center following a brief illness.
He was born in Bear Lake, November 1, 1925, a son of the late Alec W. and Ruth Chandler Perkins. He married Vivian King, April 24, 1948.
He was a graduate of Panama High School Panama, NY and was a US Marine Corps. Veteran of World War 11, having served in the Pacific Theatre of operations. He worked at Agway, Inc. as a farm service technician in Edinboro, Corry, Waterford and Meadville, retiring in 1989 following 37 years of service. He was a member of the Conneaut Lake American Legion Post 587, was an avid golfer, former bowler and enjoyed following Pittsburgh's professional teams.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was a former trustee and head usher.
Survivors, in addition to his wife of 54 years, include two daughters, Pettylou Perkins of Erie and Lauralee Watlock (Mark) of Stephens City, VA; a son, Marvin (Chip) Perkins, Jr. (Kelli) of Jamestown, NY; three sisters Margaret Ireland (Jarvis) and Jane Nagle, all of Panama, NY and Martha Ann Zouck (William) of Youngstown, OH; a brother, Alec Perkins, Jr. (Norrine) of Charlottesville, VA; two grandchildren, Jacob and Alexandra Perkins and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Leo Perkins.
Services were held with the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home.
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
