Mrs. Mary A. Holder, 74, of Meadville, wife of Carlton E. Holder, died at Spencer Hospital, Thursday, February 24, 1983, after a seven-month illness.
She was born in Greenwood Township, September 3, 1908, a daughter of Albert and Nellie Loper Brown. She married Holder September 22, 1934.
In her early life, she worked as a legal secretary for 12 years with Attorney Leland Culbertson and later worked as an office secretary for B. W. Mossman.
A member of First Baptist Church and the church's K.J.U. Sunday School Class and Missionary Society, she also was a 1927 graduate of Meadville Commercial College.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Marilyn Yoder and Mrs. Jerry (Bonnie) Murphy, both of Meadville and Mrs. Wayne (Kay) Daugherty of Springfield, OH; two sisters, Mrs. Milton (Helen) Courtright of Horseheads, NY and Mrs. Kenneth (Francis) Kuntz of Conneaut Lake; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Ellis.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Cochranton Cemetery.
