Mary Alice Moss

Mary Alice Moss, 86, of Conneaut Lake, died Sunday, June 19, 2016 at Juniper Village, Meadville. She was born October 23, 1929 in New Castle, PA a daughter of Ralph and Alice McConnell Watson. She married Frederick Moss April 26, 1952 and he preceded her in death February 17, 2010. She was a graduate of New Wilmington High School and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Indiana University of PA in 1952. She worked as a home economics teacher at Conneaut Lake High School for 31 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church in Meadville and the Meadville Womens Literary Club. She was a master seamstress, making prom and wedding dresses. She also did costume work for the Meadville Community Theater and the Academy Theater. She is survived by five children, Maurya Kathleen McCall and her husband Robert of St. Croix, USVI, Glen Moss and his wife Nancy of Lincoln, NE, Robin Moss and his wife Carla of Meadville, Kathleen Webb and her husband Reggie of Waynesboro, VA and Colleen Harnett and her husband Dennis of Boonsboro, MD; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Sutton, Kristopher Sutton, Ashley Moss Kurkiewicz, Taylor Moss Brodersen, Cyrus Webb, Mattie Webb, Chelsea Harnett and Hayley Harnett Grtler; a great granddaughter, Skye Kurkiewicz; a brother, Ralph Watson, Jr. of Mercer and nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, David Watson. A memorial service will be Saturday, September 3rd at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 346 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA with the Rev. Kate Walker, officiating. The family suggests memorials be made to Juniper Village (for the Employee Fund), 455 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA 16335.
