Mary Ann Gallagher, 95 of Millcreek Twp, Sandy Lake, passed away on December 8, 2021 at St. Pauls in Greenville. Mary Ann was born in Upper St Clair on May 11, 1926 to the late Albert and Mary (Orient) Nickolay. She worked for many years in retail in Pittsburgh and then cleaned for Hovis Interiors in Meadville after moving to Sandy Lake.
Mary Ann married her beloved husband, Leonard J. Gallagher in 1964, he preceded her in death on April 18, 2017.
Mary Ann was Roman Catholic by faith and a member of St. Columbkille Roman Catholic Church in Stoneboro. She enjoyed attending her son’s motocross races and was an avid Steelers fan. When the family had a small farm she enjoyed taking care of it and she also enjoyed helping out in her son’s shop, Gallagher’s Auto.
Mary Ann is survived by her son, John Gallagher and companion Melissa Whitehouse of Sandy Lake, sisters; Theresa Beggs, Genevieve Pavlic, and Catherine Lastominsky, nieces; Shirley, Mary, Patty, and Nancy, and nephew Bob.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Brigitte Gallagher, and brothers Joseph, Bernard, and Albert Nickolay.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, where family and friends are welcome from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm on Wednesday, December 15. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 2 pm on Wednesday, December 15 at St. Columbkille Roman Catholic Church, 70 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, with the Rev. Robert Manning, officiating.
Interment will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery.
