Mary Ann Mccarl

Mary Ann McCarl, 73, a resident of the Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown, died there Wednesday, September 25, 1996 following a period of declining health.

She was born December 9, 1922 in Meadville, a daughter of the late Emil and Mary Mohra Kurt.  She married Albert Smith June 22, 1941.  He preceded her in death May 1973.  She subsequently married Tweed McCarl June 1, 1974.  He also preceded her in death November 6, 1987.

She was a member of St. Hippolyte Roman Catholic Church and former member of East Mead Volunteer Fire Hall Aux.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include five daughters, Joan McCain, Rita Derby and Audine Ehrgott, all of Meadville, Kay Snow of Portersville and Wanda Smith of Loveland, CO; three sons, Russell, Duane and Lawrence Smith, all of Meadville; three brothers, Eugene Kurt of Erie and Oscar and Andy Kurt, both of Meadville; one sister, Louise Tenney of Saegertown; one step-son, Brian McCarl of Meadville; thirty-nine grandchildren and forty-nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Josephine Smith.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Smith Cemetery, Blooming Valley.
