Mary Ann Stevens, 80, of Cambridge Springs, died at home Thursday, September 04, 2014 following a period of declining health.
She was born July 6, 1934 in Buffalo, NY a daughter of Jack and Alta Longcore Sibley. Her mother died when she was 18 and her father later married Helen and she had many years as Helen’s step-daughter. She married William M. Stevens May 27, 1961 in Meadville and he survives.
She worked for 30 years for Penn Union Teledyne in Edinboro and retired in 1997. She was a member of the Veterans Welcome Home Association, member and Post Historian for many years of Veterans of the Vietnam War Post #52, was a volunteer poll worker for many years at the Cussewago Twp. voting location, member of the Crawford County Fire Police and crewed for several years for Greg Lucas’s balloon Bolero at the Thurston Classic.
Survivors, in addition to her husband Bill of 53 years, include: a daughter, Laurie Davis and her husband Phil of Meadville; two grandchildren, Anissa Claypoole and her husband Alan of Stoneboro and Nicole Benge and her husband Tom of Redmond, OR; two step granddaughters, Carrie Davis and her husband Jeff Frantz of Townville and Sarah Davis of Titusville; nine great grandchildren; a sister, Pauline Aldrich of Union City and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and step-mother, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Delores Pawlak and Rita Sibley.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
The funeral service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Harvey Boal, Pastor of Cochranton Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.
