Mary B. Patterson

Mary B. (Molly) Patterson, 84, of Meadville died Sunday, January 29, 2017 surrounded by her family at the Meadville Medical Center. She was born in Pittsburgh May 30, 1932 a daughter of Edgar Clifton and Etta Wickersham Bickel. She married James W. Patterson November 12, 1955 and he survives. She attended Thiel College and was a 1955 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing education. She worked in the maternity department of Magee Womens Hospital and Greenville Hospital. She also provided home nursing care in the Greenville area. She attended Twelve Apostles Lutheran Church, Saegertown and was formerly active at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Greenville. She was a volunteer with Hospice of Crawford County, a former officer of Beta Sigma Omicron sorority of Thiel College and a member of the Meadville Country Club. She enjoyed gardening, was a pet lover, but especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors, in addition to her husband Jim of 61 years, include: two daughters, Kimberly Ann and her husband William of Pittsburgh and Katherine Lee of Meadville; two granddaughters, Megan and Rebecca Knox; a sister-in-law, Patricia Bickel of Largo, FL and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, David W. Bickel and a sister, Barbara Louise Arnold. The memorial service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville with the Rev. Mark Fischer, Pastor of Twelve Apostles Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be private in Greendale Cemetery.
