Mary Brosius Cross Haytock

Mary Brosius Cross Haytock, 82, of Concord House, Meadville, died Friday, February 7, 2003 at Meadville Medical Center following a period of failing health.

She was born September 16, 1920 in Elizabeth, NJ, a daughter of the late Raymond E. and Alice King Cross.  She married Benjamin Haytock, III December 21, 1941 and he preceded her in death in 1986.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she had served as a Deacon and was a member of Faith Circle.

She was a member of the Meadville Women’s Club, Meadville Medical Center Auxiliary, and the former Gallivanters Club.  She served as a volunteer for the Crawford County READ Program and also at Meadville Medial Center.  She enjoyed gardening, playing bridge, reading, jigsaw puzzles, and being with friends and family.

Survivors include a son, Benjamin D. Haytock and his wife Nancy of Meadville; a granddaughter, Jennifer Haytock; a grandson, B. Dawson Haytock; a sister, Jean Wilson of Aldan, PA; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Faith Wetmore with whom she was very close of Fisty, KY; several nieces and nephews; and many close friends.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard Kent Haytock in 1999.

Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

A Memorial Service of Resurrection will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of First Presbyterian Church, 890 Liberty St., Meadville with Rev. Dr. Thomas Sebben, Interim Pastor officiating.

Interment will be in Easton Cemetery, Easton, PA.
