Mary C. "Dolly" Ryder

March 22, 1932 — October 14, 2024

Mary (Dolly) Ryder, aged 92 of 25 Lake Street, Stoneboro, PA passed away peacefully on Monday, October 14, 2024 after battling with kidney failure.

Born Mary Catherine Williams on March 22, 1932, Dolly was raised by her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Stiver after her mother passed away. Mary was separated from her two brothers at a young age, but she was reunited with them as young adults. She loved her brothers and their families and was forever grateful for their relationships.

Dolly is survived by her brother, James (Bonnie) Williams of Pennsylvania and her five children, Elizabeth Henry, Dennis Burns, Ralph Burns, Rob Burns and Christina J. Ryder-Reagle.

She also leaves behind her grandchildren Scott, Kayla, Lexy, Nick, Juanita, Stephanie, Jessie, Ryan, Erica, Raymond, Cassandra, Lindsey, Logan and Cody plus numerous great-grandchildren.

Dolly loved people and animals and was always willing to help anyone who needed it. She was generous of her time and money with those in need. She sang in a band for many years and loved it when someone would ask her to sing at a picnic or dinner at her apartment building. Although her voice faltered, her enthusiasm for singing, people and animals never did, even into her 90’s. I want to thank the many residents of Lakeview Manor and her friends for their kindness and support over the last year.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. in Stoneboro, PA. She has requested no viewing. A private Interment will take place at the Alto Rest Cemetery in Altoona, Pa, where Orace (Skip) Burns her deceased husband, and the love of her life was buried in 1964.

Memorials can be made to the Unity of Faith Church in Stoneboro or to Helping Hands of Stoneboro in her memory.
