Mary D. Bannon, 92, formerly of Maple Street and a resident of Hillside Home for the past two years died Sunday, September 28, 2003 at the Meadville Medical Center.
She was born July 30, 1911 in Ridgeway, PA a daughter of Anthony J. and Brigid O’Conner Fallon. She married Paul J. Bannon November 26, 1936 and he preceded her in death December 23, 1998.
She retired in 1973 as Deputy Clerk of Courts for Crawford County after 12½ years of service.
She was a member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, its Alter and Rosary Society and the Catholic Daughters of America. She was also a member of the Meadville Medical Center Auxiliary, Elks Lodge #219 Auxiliary and she volunteered with the American Red Cross. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Pittsburgh.
Survivors, include a daughter, Carol Ann Brown and her husband William of Marietta, GA; three grandchildren, Timothy Brown, Kathleen Brown and Cynthia Brown; two great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son and a brother, Joseph A. Fallon.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville with a Scripture Prayer Service at 8:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, 383 Arch Street, Meadville.
Burial will be in St. Brigid Cemetery.
