Mary Dickson Nichols

Mrs. Mary Dickson Nichols, 83, of Meadville, widow of Harry A. "Hez" Nichols, former Crawford County sheriff, died suddenly on Monday, March 29, 1971, at City Hospital.

Her husband was sheriff from 1934 to 1938.  He died in 1939.

Mrs. Nichols was born at Woodcock, a daughter of O.H.P. and Helen Long Dickson.  She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Sterling Club.

Survivors include a son, Robert B. Nichols of Meadville; three grandchildren, Dale and Mary Kathleen Nichols and Mrs. Judy Siverd; and two nieces, Mrs. Paul (Helen) Wolff of Light House Point, FL and Mrs. Al (Betty) Margolis of Melbourne, FL.  A son, H. Arthur Nichols, died previously.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
