Mary E. Byerly

Mrs. Mary E. Byerly, 87, resident of the Methodist Home for the Aged, died Thursday, October 28, 1965, at City Hospital following an illness of several weeks.

She was born in Clinton Township, Butler County, February 26, 1878, a daughter of James and Hannah Hunter Harvey.  Her husband, John C. Byerly, who she married October 9, 1907, died February 7, 1941.

Mrs. Byerly attended Slippery Rock State College and taught school for a number of years in Butler County.  For 46 years she lived in Clarion County where she was a member of Tylersburg Methodist Church.

She is survived by a son, Chester Byerly of New Bethlehem; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  A son, Russell A., preceded her in death.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Sarverville Union Cemetery.
