Mary Elizabeth Nunn

Mary Elizabeth Smith Nunn, 87, of Meadville, died Thursday, June 18, 1998 at Wesbury United Methodist Community.

She was born in Franklin, March 6, 1911, a daughter of Tom Charles and Elizabeth Youngson Smith.  She married Lawrence Hill Nunn April 30, 1932 who preceded her in death in 1983.

She attended Allegheny College where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and also attended Meadville Commercial College.  She was associated in business for 15 years with her husband in the J. H. Nunn Co.  She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Meadville Garden Club and the Crawford County Historical Society.

Survivors include a daughter, Jill Pettit (Don) of Meadville; a son, John F. (Jack) Nunn (Janet) of Middletown, MD; five grandchildren, D. Bradley Pettit (Tracy) of Charlottesville, VA, Laura Lindbergh (Peter) of Arlee, MT, Charles L. Nunn of Durham, NC, Jenny E. Nunn of Middletown, MD and Nell S. Nunn of San Diego, CA and five great-grandchildren, Cutter, Jill and Ella Lindbergh and Elizabeth and Erin Pettit.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Warren C. Smith of Meadville and Tom Y. Smith of Buffalo.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
