Mary Ellen Miller

Mary Ellen Miller, 86, of 728 Wesley Way, Meadville, died Monday April 25, 2005 at Wesbury United Methodist Community after a period of declining health.

She was born in Meadville, February 23, 1919, a daughter of the late Lloyd J. and Florence Maxwell Steere.  She married Clyde M. Miller June 16, 1938 and he survives.

She was a 1936 graduate of Meadville High School and a 1938 graduate of Meadville Commercial College, and had been employed as an office secretary at Meadville Senior High School for 24 years, retiring in 1980.

She was a member of Stone United Methodist Church and a former Sunday School Teacher.  She had been a volunteer with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program and a former member of the Child Guidance Club.

Survivors, in addition to her husband of 66 years, include 3 sons, Thomas Miller of Meadville, Theodore Miller and his wife Margy of Batavia, NY, and Terrence Miller and his wife Linda of Conneaut Lake, 7 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, David Miller, and an infant sister, Isabelle Steere.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at a date and time to be announced.
