Mary J. Hoover

Mrs. Mary J. Hoover, 81, of Guys Mills, widow of R. Wesley Hoover, died Thursday, January 3, 1985, at her home following an extended illness.

Mrs. Hoover was born September 1, 1903, at Pine Grove, Clearfield County, a daughter of Fred and Mae Schwab Weaver.  Her husband, R. Wesley Hoover, preceded in death.

She had been employed as a housekeeper for various families for a number of years.  She was a member of United Church of Guys Mills.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Glenn (Donna) Shumaker of Guys Mills and Mrs. Gordon (Helen) Kent of Guys Mills; four sons, Wesley Arden Hoover of Kenton, DE, Frederick Darl Hoover of Coatsville, Wayne Hoover of Guys Mills and Gerald Lee Hoover of Kelton; five sisters, Mrs. Elsie Mook and Mrs. Nora Groger, both of Meadville, Mrs. Eva Harvey and Mrs. Eiva Teed, both of Black Ash and Mrs. Edna Doyle of Cleveland; two brothers, Fred W. Weaver of Slippery Rock and Clifford Weaver of Truth or Consequences, NM; thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman and Charles.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
