Mary Jane Schell, 67, of Conneaut Lake formerly of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, October 17, 2000, at Meadville Medical Center after an extended illness.
Born in Philadelphia, October 18, 1932, she was a daughter of John P. and Helen McAllister McDonnell. She married Elwood G. Schell, Sr. May 10, 1952. He preceded her in death September 5, 1985.
she was a homemaker and was an assistant librarian for eight years at Hatfield Public Library.
She was a member of Our Lady Queen of the Americas Church at Conneaut Lake.
She enjoyed horses and spent many hours taking care of farm duties and attending Morgan horse shows. She was a member of Penn-Ohio Morgan Horse Assn.
Survivors include two sons, Elwood G. (Curly) Schell, Jr. (Michael) of Conneaut Lake and Gerald Schell (Deborah) of Gilbertsville; two daughters, Ellen Seiz (David) of Ocean City, MD and Geraldine Brady (Anthony) of Norwich, NY; five grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Steinbronn and Esther Kirn (Harry), all of Philadelphia; two brothers, John McDonnell (Lisa) of Center Square and James McDonnell (Carol) of Sewell, NJ.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel McDonnell.
Services were held at Waid-Coleman Funeral Home.
Interment was in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Warrington Township, Bucks County, PA.
