Mary Jo Sanner

Mary Jo Sanner, 62, of 27215 Guys Mills Road, Meadville, died Friday Aug. 8, 2003, at Meadville Medical Center, after an extended illness

She was born in Meadville March 27, 1941, a daughter of Joseph & Viva Clary Bennsinger.  She married Frank L. Sanner Sept. 29, 1962, and he preceded her in death April 22, 2003.

She was a 1959 graduate of Saegertown High School, and a 1962 graduate of Meadville City Hospital School of Nursing.

She had retired in 1997 as Office Receptionist for Dr. Paul Oyler, in the Pioneer Medical Group, and had previously been Director of Nursing at the former David Mead Residence Inn, Director of Nursing at Meadville Hillside Home,  Nursing Supervisor at the former Mead Nursing Home, and a staff nurse at Meadville City Hospital.

She was a member of Townville Baptist Church, and a former member of Wayland Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Jody L. Slingluff and her husband, Allen of Townville, and one son David S. Sanner and his wife Kristy of Meadville, 3 grandchildren, Scott F. & Andrew S. Sanner, and Adam J. Slingluff, and one brother Thomas Bennsinger of Louisiana.

Calling hours will be Monday from 6-9 p.m. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc. 581 Chestnut St.

The funeral service will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Townville Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bruce Moses, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Wayland Cemetery, East Mead Twp.
