Mary L. Ploski

March 29, 1919 — March 20, 2006

Mary L. Ploski, 86, died Monday March 20, 2006, at Cordia Commons where she had resided for the past 2 years and was made to feel a part of their family by the caring and loving staff and friendly residents.

She was born in Geneva, March 29, 1919, a daughter of Thomas and Lillian Brown Watson.  She shared 50 years with her husband Stanley whom she married March 21, 1938, and who died December 12, 1988, as they raised their family in Guys Mills.  She later moved to Meadville and was devoted to her family and cherished the time spent with them.

Mary’s favorite times included family gatherings, cooking, and gardening.  She treasured both her Guys Mills friendships and those later formed in Meadville.  She was known for her wit and sense of humor.

Survivors include 1 daughter, Barbara Atwell and her husband Ronald of Meadville and their children, Chad Atwell and Stephanie Bowen; 2 sons, Robert T. Ploski and his wife Kendra of Meadville and their son Garth, and James L. Ploski of Meadville and his sons Steven and Rick, and grandchildren Jan Lee Carkin and Jody Lee Roess, daughters of a deceased daughter Lillian Lee and seven great grandchildren..  Also deceased is a daughter in law, Sandra Andre Ploski wife of James, and a brother Russell Watson.

There are no calling hours, and a private family funeral and committal service will be held Friday at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville with the Rev. Brian Moran, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Guys Mills.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Crawford County, 448 Pine St., Meadville, PA 16335.
