Mary Lee Mcquiston

October 2, 1936 — May 28, 2010

Mary Lee McQuiston, 73, of Saegertown, died Friday, May 28, 2010 at the Meadville Medical Center following a long battle with Parkinson disease.

She was born in Hadley, PA October 2, 1936 a daughter of Lee L. and Zelma Tubbs Vaughn.

She was a graduate of Cochranton High School and attended Allegheny College.  She was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church.  She worked for 20 years in various administrative positions at the YMCA in Meadville.  Previously she worked for Bainbridge Real Estate, Richmond Real Estate, Allegheny College and Georgia Tech University.

She was a very creative person enjoying many artistic pursuits including writing poetry and short stories.

Survivors include: four children, David M. McQuiston and his wife Linda of Wexford, Richard McQuiston and his companion Tracey of Colonial Beach, VA; Amy Fitch and her husband Jack of Meadville and Kevin McQuiston and his wife Katherine of Wesley Chapel, FL; two sisters, Helen Miller and Florence Walls both of Meadville; thirteen grandchildren, Jessie McQuiston, Melinda McQuiston, Dan McQuiston, Tyler McQuiston, Eric McQuiston, Connor McQuiston, Derek McQuiston, Patrick McQuiston, Bryce McQuiston, Theresa McQuiston, Jason Blaney, John Bramlett and Caelan Bramlett and four great grandchildren, Dylan McQuiston, Trinity Antz, Kaeli Antz and Joscelyn Blaney.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Frances Junk, Geraldine Rathbun and Georgia Stanford; a brother, Ralph Vaughn; two infant children, Carrie Morea McQuiston and Charles Vaughn McQuiston; two grandsons and two granddaughters.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.
