Mary Lutz Slocum

Mrs. Mary Lutz Slocum, of Meadville, who celebrated her 97th birthday Saturday, died at her home Tuesday night, January 21, 1958.

She had been ailing for four years.

Mrs. Slocum was born January 18, 1861, at Mansfield, OH, a daughter of Samuel and Carrie Smith Lutz.  She married Charles C. Slocum in September of 1887.  He died in 1924.

She was a member of State Road Methodist Church and Blooming Valley Grange.

Survivors include five children, Mrs. Harley J. Morris, Mrs. Bernard Kunnicutt and Karl C. Slocum of Meadville, Mrs. Helene Fithian of Evanston, IL and F. Lawrence Slocum of Cleveland; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
