Mary M. Mccarney

Mary M. McCarney, 88, formerly of Philadelphia and a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community since August 1994, died there Friday, February 7, 1997, unexpectedly.

She was born in Philadelphia, July 5, 1908, a daughter of the late Matthew J. and Anna Finley Murphy.  She married John A. McCarney, August 30, 1935, and he preceded her in death in 1972.

She had worked as an opticians assistant in Jenkintown.  She was a member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church and a former member of St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church of Glenside, PA.

Survivors include two sons, John A. McCarny of Meadville and Matthew McCarney of Doylestown, PA; a sister, Ethel Ray of Philadelphia and two grandsons.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Henry McCarney, three sisters and four brothers.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in St. Dominic's Cemetery.
