Mary M. Slater

Mary M. Slater, 47 of Stoneboro, passed away on August 8, 2021 at UPMC Presbyterian. Mary was born on August 8, 1974 in Grove City to the late Robert H. and Mathilda “Tilly” (Potter) Ryder. She attended Lakeview High School and worked for Jackson Center Sonoco, Buckley Pizza Shop in Stoneboro, Walmart, Mercer Dollar General, and Simply Primitive at the Outlets over her years. Mary enjoyed going to races, especially at Mercer Raceway. She was very outgoing and loved spending time with her family and friends. She married her husband, Douglas Slater on August 18, 2008, he survives at home. In addition to her husband, Mary is survived by her cats, Willy and Spanky, siblings Rick Ryder, Jerry Ryder and wife Betty, Tina Sealand and husband Jim, and Kim Ference and husband Dave, sister-in-law Deb Fisher and husband Joe, and brothers-in-law Jack Slater and William Slater and wife Arlett, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Mary was preceded in death by her sister Penny. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, where family and friends are welcome from 4 pm – 6 pm on Thursday, August 12, 2021.
