Mary Louise (Carmella) Mars

Mary Louise (Carmella) Mars went peacefully to be with our Heavenly Father June 16, 2024.  She was born July 3, 1930 to Anne and Arthur Walley in East Brady, PA.  She graduated in 1948 from East Brady High School. She received her Bachelor and Master Degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and had over 30 years teaching at DuBois Area School, Rimersburg Area School and New Castle Area High School, where she retired in 1988 teaching Home Economics and Child Development.

She enjoyed painting, ceramics, and traveling to many countries and all over the U.S. with her family. She loved Genealogy and putting together all her high school and family reunions. She most loved and enjoyed being with her friends and family, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, having fun traveling, playing games, and camping, especially at Treasure Lake in DuBois, PA.  She was always helping to make it fun for the kids, big and small and she was voted in as President of Cayman Landing in Treasure Lake for many years.  She was loved by all that knew her as the bravest, strongest, most giving and loving person and will be missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Lowen Mars, her daughters, Patti Marie Carmella and Valerie Mehalic, two infant granddaughters, Amy Marie and Shanna Lynn, two sisters Gloria Olszewski and Barbara Vertullo.  She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Randy (Vickie) Carmella, FL, her daughters, Jennifer (Chuck) Oblich, Sandy Lake, PA, and Faith (Don) Duchene, Jr, Apollo, PA, one brother, Joseph (Angela) Walley, TX, Son-in-law, Mitch Mehalic, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews and many grand puppies.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, PA.  A Roman Catholic Mass will honor and celebrate Mary's life in the near future.
