Mary T. Scott, 79 of Stoneboro, passed away at the Grove at Greenville on February 21, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born on December 21, 1938 in Stoneboro to the late John and Cecelia O’Brien Brazel. She was a homemaker and then became a Nurse’s Aide at The Grove at Greenville, formerly White Cliff Nursing Home. Nursing was her true passion and she loved helping and caring for others. Mary married her beloved husband, Robert Lee “Bob” Scott, on September 6, 1957. He preceded her in death on March 30, 2017. Mary was a caring and loving grandmother, loving to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She loved taking trips and retreats, especially loving to visit cabins near Tideoute and Tionesta. She also enjoyed reading while sunbathing on a warm day. She was a longtime member of St. Columbkille Roman Catholic Church in Stoneboro and served as a Eucharistic Minister for many years. She also helped with many church functions such as Lenten Fish Dinners and was a member of the church card club. Mary is survived by three children, Robert L. Scott Jr and wife Jodi, Tracy L. Mosley and husband Michael, and Jacqueline N. Scott and companion Michael Hovis, all of Stoneboro, a sister Margie A. Stevenson of Stoneboro, daughter-in-law Lisa Scott, eight grandchildren, Shane Scott and wife Kindra, Michael Mosley and fiancée Regina, Brandon Mosley, Curtis Mosley, Kyle Scott, Nick Sommers, Gracen Scott, and Sherri Hovis, two great-grandchildren, Jaidyn and Owen Scott, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her sons Mark A. and Steven E. “Beaver” Scott, a grandson Colton “CJ” Hovis, and siblings William Brazel, Eileen Stevenson, John Brazel, Robert Brazel, Kenny Brazel, and Joann Burnett. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Black Funeral Home, 99 Franklin Street, where family and friends are welcome from 6 pm until 8 pm on Friday, February 23. A vigil service will take place in the funeral home at 5:30 PM on Friday, February 23 with Father Robert A. Manning, officiating. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at the St. Columbkille Roman Catholic Church, 70 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, at 11 am on Saturday, February 24, 2018 with Father Robert A.
