Masanobu Morisuye, 83, formerly of Sharon, died Monday, June 8, 1981, at United Methodist Nursing Hospital, where he had been a patient since April 22. He had been ill for four months.
He was born at Okayama, Japan, February 7, 1898, son of Yojiro and Ise Taketa Morisuye. He married Kikue Hasegawa June 17, 1925. He retired from Westinghouse, Sharon, in 1963, after 40 years of service. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Sharon, where he taught Sunday school for 25 years and was a former church lay leader. He was a former district lay leader of Grove City District of the United Methodist Church. He graduated from University of California in 1921 and received a master's degree in electrical engineering from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY in 1923. He was a former board member of F. H. Buhl Club, Sharon. He had received a Silver Beaver award, the highest award for volunteer work in Boys Scouts of Mercer County.
Survivors include his wife, a resident of the United Methodist Home; two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Jean) Conklin of New Haven, CT and Mrs. Gerhard (Eleanor) Wilhelmi of Zornheim, Germany; a brother, Jo Morisuye of Sharon and three grandchildren.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Japanese Cemetery, San Francisco, CA.
